FAQs – Everything that you need to know
PB Group operates modern manufacturing plants and distribution hubs across the UK (headquartered in Greenford, Middlesex) and Europe (via our Bulgaria Packaging manufacturing base). This dual-footprint infrastructure combines agile domestic UK production for rapid lead times with large-scale European manufacturing capacity for high-volume enterprise orders.
Our manufacturing operations encompass blown film extrusion, flexographic printing, rapid digital printing, precision slitting, multi-format bag and pouch converting, micro-perforation, and automated adhesive application. We convert flexible films into finished postal mailers, food pouches, refuse sacks, industrial liners, and protective covers.
We process a broad spectrum of polymers and sustainable compounds, including Low-Density Polyethylene (LDPE), Linear Low-Density Polyethylene (LLDPE), High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE), and Ethylene Vinyl Acetate (EVA) for extreme cold environments. We specialise in blending 30% to 100% Post-Consumer Recycled (PCR) polythene for UK Plastic Packaging Tax (PPT) compliance, as well as EN 13432 certified compostable bio-polymers and FSC®-certified papers.
Lead times are structured across four operational fulfilment tiers:
- Off-the-shelf stock lines: Available for next-day delivery across the UK when ordered by standard cut-off times.
- Rapid digital printing: From 3 working days for short-run customisations and promotional branding.
- UK bespoke manufacturing & extrusion: Typically 3 weeks for custom film gauges, non-standard dimensions, and dedicated flexographic print runs.
- International volume production: Up to 3 months for scheduled multi-container shipments and large enterprise contracts.
Our facilities operate a closed-loop recycling infrastructure. We collect clean polymer edge trimmings, offcuts, and extrusion start-up scrap at source, regranulate them on-site, and reintroduce them into heavy-duty non-food product lines such as black refuse sacks and construction membranes. This minimises virgin plastic consumption and prevents industrial waste from entering landfill.
Our manufacturing facilities operate under an ISO 9001:2015 certified Quality Management System registered by BSI, ensuring continuous process monitoring, tight dimensional tolerances, and full raw material batch traceability. For food and pharmaceutical packaging, our plants comply with BRCGS Global Standards for Packaging Materials and hold a Royal Warrant of Appointment.
During extrusion and conversion, technical operators continuously monitor melt temperature, dart drop impact resistance, tensile strength, elongation at break, and burst pressure. Seal integrity is tested across automated continuous weld, side-weld, bottom-weld, and star-seal lines to ensure zero leaks or splitting under heavy commercial transit loads.
Yes. Our production setup is engineered for flexibility. Our domestic UK conversion lines let us supply lower minimum order quantities (MOQs) with fast delivery for growing D2C and trade brands, while our high-speed European lines can manufacture millions of units per month for multi-site retailers, national wholesalers, and multinational FMCG brands.
We provide both digital and flexographic roll-to-roll printing. Our short-run digital printing delivers photorealistic imagery and full CMYK colour fidelity with zero plate origination costs, while our flexographic presses deliver rapid, cost-effective high-volume printing, including multi-colour designs, using food-safe, non-migrating, solvent-free, water-based inks.
No. We do not normally provide physical, bespoke pre-production prototypes. Instead, we run custom manufacturing jobs directly from technical drawings, verified dimensional specifications, and approved digital artwork, ensuring lean production workflows and rapid setup for scheduled manufacturing runs.
Yes. PB Group utilises advanced in-house recycling technology to capture and reprocess 100% of internal plastic scrap directly back into packaging production lines.
